Member types, fees, qualifications and facilities of the Society.
Types of members
The Society has four categories of members.
- General Any Nepali citizen who meets the membership qualifications, applies by the prescribed procedure, and obtains membership.
- Founding Office bearers at the time of registration. Founding Members must take General or Life Membership and pay the applicable fee.
- Life Granted, following the prescribed procedure, to individuals who make special support or contribution to the development of the organisation.
- Honorary Distinguished scientists or eminent citizens may be granted Honorary Membership. Honorary Members do not have voting rights.

Qualifications
To obtain membership, a person must generally meet the following.
- Be a Nepali citizen, at least 18 years of age, and of sound mind.
- Not have been found guilty of embezzling public property, or convicted of a criminal offence involving moral turpitude or corruption.
- Hold a Ph.D., M.Phil. or Master’s in Chemistry and be continuously working in the field; or hold a relevant Bachelor’s / Master’s in chemistry-related subjects with the required professional experience; or have published notable scientific research in chemistry or related subjects.
Member facilities
- Receive the Society’s publications at a concessional rate set by the Committee.
- Participate in seminars, lectures, workshops, research activities and similar programmes organised by the Society.
- Obtain professional recommendation letters as required.
To apply for membership, contact the Society office. Membership is granted by decision of the Executive Committee (or General Assembly for Honorary membership).
